Education
Kindergarten to Grade 12 and, from the Thompson Rivers University, degree granting courses and distant learning. A demonstration forest in a community woodlot provides education on our resources along with nature trails.

Health Care
A 16-bed acute care hospital, full emergency ward, 55 public long-term care beds, 32-room private seniors care facility, subsidized seniors living, 12 doctors, 6 dentists, 2 chiropractors, physiotherapy, massage therapy, and optometry services. Public Health, Mental Health, a community respite program, home care services, and a full-time ambulance team provide some of the best health care available.

Recreation
Hunting, fishing, water skiing, swimming, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, mountain biking, ice fishing, mountain climbing, hiking or snowmobiling. 100 Mile House sports a new $5 million arena complex, curling rink, rodeo stadium, 9-hole golf course 74-acre park and seniors activity centre. An 18-hole PGA golf course at the 108 Ranch, community halls, ball parks, and rodeo grounds throughout the South Cariboo offer much to the residents and travellers alike.

Amenities

• Firefighting is provided where available by the best volunteer firefighters anywhere
• RCMP service to the South Cariboo with detachments in Clinton and 100 Mile House.
• Transportation is mainly rubber tire, Greyhound bus service, and two local airstrips. The 100 Mile airstrip, a 2300 ft paved strip and the 108 Mile Regional airstrip to accommodate the corporate jets, medi-vac services, and multi-engine aircraft. The local float plane base at Watson Lake is only five minutes north of town. Rail service, both freight and passenger is presently being dealt with by government.
• Our main industry is forestry with three major mills. We have North America's largest handcrafted log-home industry. Agriculture, small business, and a great tourism industry provide an economy on its own.
• Centrally located in British Columbia, 5½ hours from Vancouver, 4 hours from Prince George and 5 hours from the Alberta border.
